What are the available BlackBerry plans?

        No Browsing, no  email

§ Postpaid customers

§ Customers will be required to complete a battery pull once a data bundle is activated.

§ For a 4G Blackberry plan, once the data bundle has been exhausted and the plan days have not ended, the customer will be charged for browsing at a rate of $15/MB (prepaid) and $10/MB (Postpaid).

What is Digicel Blackberry Social plan? 

Digicel Blackberry Social plan provides Prepaid customers unlimited access to the Social Networks & Instant Messenger applications at a cost of JMD $999 for 30 days. This plan gives access to Facebook, MySpace, Blackberry Messenger, MSN Messenger & more! Blackberry Social does not provide Internet Browsing or Email. To sign up for Blackberry Social simply add sufficient credit, then dial *136*40# from your Blackberry phone. Text 55 to 137 FREE at any time for more information on other Digicel Blackberry plans.

How do I activate my BlackBerry service? 

Customers will be able to activate a Blackberry plan by using USSD code:

§   First dial *136# send and await instructions. These messages will be sent via text message to your smartphone.

§   Choose a 4G or 2G plan

§   There will be a thirty (30) minute window within which to complete and submit the activation request after the text instructions are received.

§   Once the activation is completed a text message which confirms activation will be received.

It is advised NOT to browse until the confirmation text message is received advising that the Blackberry plan has been provisioned and a battery pull is completed. Use of service without completion of the activation process will result in charges of $40/MB.

How do I renew my BlackBerry plan? 

·         All plans will renew automatically EXCEPT the 1 day 500MB plan (PREPAID).

o   You will be required to reactivate this plan at the end of the current plan using *136#.

·         Prepaid customers will receive a warning message 2 days and 1 day before expiry advising that the plan will be automatically renewed at the start of the new period. If you wish, you may use the code in the message to deactivate the automatic renewal of the plan.

·         Postpaid customers will receive a warning message 4 days and 1 day before expiry, advising that the plan will be automatically renewed at the start of the new period.

·         If the customer does nothing, the plan will be renewed at the start of the next period once there are sufficient funds on the account and the customer will receive a text message confirming that the plan has been renewed.

·         If there is insufficient funds on your account then your plan will be cancelled and you will have to go through the activation process (dial *136#) in order to reactivate the service.

How do I set up my email on my BlackBerry Phone? 

To set-up your email on your Blackberry phone:

1. Select "Setup Wizard" from your phone menu

2. Select Email Setup/Settings, then select I want to create or add an email address, followed by selecting “Next”

3. Select “Next” again to open the Email setup website then following the quick and easy steps

Remember to read the Legal Terms & Conditions and if you agree select Yes/"I Agree"

To exit Email setup at any time, Click the Menu button then select Close

How do I update the Blackberry software on my phone? 

By updating your Blackberry software, you may be able to enjoy new Blackberry features.

To upgrade your device software you may follow the steps below. It may take up to an hour to update your device software. During that time, you should not disconnect your BlackBerry device from your computer.

1. Connect your device to your computer

2. On the home screen of the BlackBerry® Desktop Software, select Update my device.

3. Do one of the following:

 - To download an update, select Get update.

 - To view other available versions of the BlackBerry Device Software, click View other versions. If applicable, select another version then select Install.

4. Do any of the following:

 - To keep a backup file of your device data and settings, select the Back up your device data check box. This backup file is restored to your device after the update is complete. If you do not back up your data, your device data, settings, and email messages will be deleted from your device after the update is installed.

 - To encrypt your backup data, click Encrypt backup file.

 - If you want to receive an email message when an updated version of BlackBerry Device Software is available, select the Email me when new versions are available check box.

5. Select Install update.

When you receive a confirmation message that the update is complete, you may disconnect your device.

How do I access or use different phone settings and features? 

If you need information on using your Blackberry phone features just dial 101 from your Digicel Phone. Each call costs JMD $10.00

For Blackberry support, simply text 61 to 137 to receive Blackberry info via text messages, or dial 136 to speak to an agent
