1.      What are the available BlackBerry plans?

 

Blackberry Plans offer Blackberry data services including browsing, access to Email and unlimited access to Social Network & Instant Messenger applications. Prepaid customers may also choose a Blackberry Social plan, which gives access to Social Network & Instant Messenger applications such as Facebook and BBM and is perfect for the light Blackberry user.

 

Customers may choose from Blackberry Plans available to Prepaid and Postpaid subscribers

 

A. Prepaid customers have the following Blackberry Plan options:

 

·         4G Mobile Blackberry Plans (promo offer until Oct 14, 2012)

Please note the following:

·         All prices are subject to GCT

·         All customers will be required to complete a battery pull once a data bundle is activated.

·         Customers must have 3G or 4G Blackberry smartphone with the 850Mhz band to access 4G Mobile date speeds and plans

·         4G Mobile customers will be required to change their phone’s network settings to 3G&2G or 4G&2G

·         For 4G Mobile Blackberry plans, overage rates will apply once the plan data bundle has been full used and the plan days have not ended. Rates are $15/MB Prepaid and $10/MB Postpaid

·         4G plans include Streaming

 

 

2.      How do I activate my BlackBerry service? 

Customers will be able to activate a Blackberry plan by using USSD code:

·         Activating a 4G Mobile Blackberry Plan

o   First Sign up for a plan from your 3G or 4G Mobile phone.

§ Dial *136*400# and press send (Note: 4G Mobile speeds can only be accessed by a 3G or 4G compatible Blackberry smartphone)

§ Then await instructions via text message to your smartphone.

§ Choose a 4G Mobile plan from the available options.

§ There will be a thirty (30) minute window within which to complete and submit the activation request after the text instructions are received.

§ Once the activation is completed a text message which confirms activation will be received.

 

·         Go to your phone's network setting and change it to 3G&2G or 4G&2G, GSM/WCDMA or Dual Mode

o   To change network settings for Blackberry, go to Manage Connections' icon, then Mobile Network option

o   Do a battery pull and restart your phone

o   Check that your phone's coverage icon changes from EDGE or GPRS to 3G, 3G+, 4G or H+…

o   Now you can start browsing on your Blackberry at 4G speeds!!!

 

·         Activating a 2G Blackberry Plan

o   First dial *136# and press send for 2G plans.

o   Then await instructions via text message to your smartphone.

o    Choose a 2G plan from the available options.

o   There will be a thirty (30) minute window within which to complete and submit the activation request after the text instructions are received.

o   Once the activation is completed a text message which confirms activation will be received.

o   Do a battery pull and restart your phone

o   Now you can start browsing on your Blackberry.

 

You are advised NOT to browse until the confirmation text message is received advising that the Blackberry plan has been provisioned and a battery pull is completed. Use of service without completion of the activation process will result in charges of $40/MB.

 

 

3.      How do I renew my BlackBerry plan? 

·         All prepaid and postpaid plans will renew automatically EXCEPT the 1 day, 1.5GB plan for PREPAID customers.

o   You will be required to reactivate this plan at the end of the current plan using *136#.

 

For all other plans:

 

·         Prepaid customers will receive a warning message 2 days and 1 day before expiry, advising that the plan will be automatically renewed at the start of the new period. If you wish, you may use the code (*136*9*10) received in the message to deactivate the automatic renewal of the plan.

·         Postpaid customers will receive a warning message 4 days and 1 day before expiry, advising that the plan will be automatically renewed at the start of the new period.

·         If the customer does nothing, the plan will be renewed at the start of the next period once there are sufficient funds on the account and the customer will receive a text message confirming that the plan has been renewed.

·         If there is insufficient funds on your account then your plan will be cancelled and you will have to go through the activation process (dial *136#) in order to reactivate the service.

 

4.      How do I renew and select another plan?

·           One (1) day before plan expiry customers will receive a text message noting how to renew and change plan if desired.

 

·         Steps to Renew and Select another Plan:

Step 1: Message will state “Your subscription to plan will expire on DATE. To extend subscription dial *136*1*PLAN_CODE#, to change subscription dial *136*2*PLAN_CODE#.

Customers may choose either to renew the same plan or select another plan as follows:

 

Plan Renewal

§     After Customer has entered *136*1*PLAN_CODE# he/she will receive confirmation via text message that the plan has been renewed for another period.

 

Selecting Another Plan

§ After Customer has entered *136*2*PLAN_CODE# he/she will receive instructions via text message on how to change their plan.

 

§ Step 2: “To change your plan from x day to x day at a cost of $x dial *136*OLD_PLAN_CODE*NEW_PLAN_CODE#. To change to x day at a cost of $x, dial *136* OLD_PLAN_CODE*NEW_PLAN_CODE #”.

 

§ EXAMPLE: Customer John has a Prepaid BlackBerry plan active so the message will read “To change your plan from 7 day to 14 day at a cost of 200.00JMD dial *136*10*20#

 

§ Step 3: Message received before current plan expires. Plan Prepaid BlackBerry x will be activated after your Prepaid BlackBerry x plan expires on DATE.

 

§ Step 4: Message received after current plan expires. “Your plan Prepaid BlackBerry X was successfully changed to plan Prepaid Blackberry Y”.

 

§ N.B. Selecting another plan is immediate so Digicel recommends that you change your plan at the end of your current plan period or you will lose the remaining days of your current plan.
