1. What is Direct Download?
* Direct Download is a quick, easy and convenient way to download ring tones, Java games and pictures from the Digicel Live WAP portal directly to your Digicel phones.
2. What is required in order to access the Direct Download service?
* In order to use Direct Download to get ring tones, Java games and pictures a customer needs to have:
i. A GPRS compatible handset
ii. A handset that has been provisioned for the Digicel Live service
3. Do I need Digicel Live to be provisioned on my handset in order to access the Direct Download service?
* Yes. You will only be able to access the links via the Digicel Live WAP portal.
* A GPRS compatible handset is needed in order to access the portal.
4. How does the service works?
Using a GPRS capable handset that has been provisioned for the Digicel Live service, a customer simply accesses the Digicel Live WAP Portal at wapdigicel.com.
* Once on the portal, navigate through to select the ring tone, game or picture that you would like to download.
* Select it and start downloading.
Note: The customer is required to have the required credit on the phone for browsing as well as paying for the tone, game or picture to be downloaded.
5. After downloading a tone, game or picture will customer be able to send it to a friend?
* No. Customers will not be able to send items downloaded from the Digicel Live WAP portal from one phone to another.
6. Will the customer be able to make an order for a friend?
* No. Once a tone, game or picture is selected for download it goes directly to the phone that is being used.
Ring Tones
1. What is the cost to download a ring tone?
· Customers will be charged:
o The usual rates for accessing the Internet. That is, they must have the minimum $10 on their account in order to access the Internet.
o $0.25 per kb to browse
o $90 for a polyphonic ring tone; and $125 for a real tone
o There is no longer a distinction in price between a premium and a regular tone. All polyphonic tones cost $90 each, whether or not they are in the Top 20 folder, and all real tones cost $125 each.
2. What is the difference between a realtone and a polyphonic tone?
· A realtone is a ringtone that is an excerpt from a recording of a song.
· A polyphonic ringtone is a ringtone that is made up of complex musical notes, used to create a more dynamic sound, similar to the original music.
3. What is the file format used for the real tones?
· The file format used for the real tones is MP3.
· In order to download and play a real tone the customer’s handset must support MP3 file formats.
Steps to Download a Ring Tone
1. Go to web services in the phone menu and select Digicel Live.

Go to web services in the phone menu and enter the address wapdigicel.com
2. Once on the Digicel Live page, navigate to and select the Ringtones + Downloads link.
3. Click on the Ringtones folder
4. Click on a Category
5. Click on the tone to be downloaded
6. Select the type of ring tone; either real tone or polyphonic
7. Click on download. The ring tone will start downloading. Once the download has been completed select save.
Java Games
1. What is the cost to download a ring tone?
· Customers will be charged:
o The usual rates for accessing the Internet. That is, they must have the minimum $10 on their account in order to access the Internet.
o $0.25 per kb to browse
o $250 for a premium game and $200 for a regular game.
2. What is the difference between a premium and a regular tone?
* A premium Java game is one that is newly released. These games are usually in the Top 5 Games list.
* A regular Java game is an older game that has been on the list for a while. These games are usually in one of the categories.
Steps to Download a Java Game
1. Go to web services in the phone menu and select Digicel Live.
OR
Go to web services in the phone menu and enter the address wapdigicel.com
2. Navigate to the Games menu an select Java Games
3. Click on a category to view the available games
4. Click on the game to be downloaded to view the description and cost of the game
5. Click on buy
6. Select “click here to complete download”. The size of the game will be displayed and game will start downloading.
7. Click on install to save game to phone. Some handsets, example Nokia, automatically save the game once it has been downloaded.
Pictures
1. What pictures are available for direct download?
* Customers will be able to download wallpapers and animations directly from the Digicel Live WAP Portal.
2. What is the difference between wallpaper and an animation?
* Wallpaper is a picture that can be used as the background display on a handset.
* Animation is a short sequence of a moving cartoon that can be watched on a handset.
3. What is the cost to download a wallpaper or animation?
· Customers will be charged:
o The usual rates for accessing the Internet. That is, they must have the minimum $10 on their account in order to access the Internet.
o $0.25 per kb to browse
o $90 for each wallpaper or animation.
