Digicel Rising Stars Chill Room gets bigger and better !
July 14th, 2008

The Sony Ericsson Chill Room debuted on Digicel Rising Stars with a cool new look last Sunday and has received rave reviews. The usually happening pre- and post-performance hang-spot for the Digicel Rising Stars contenders and celebrity guests is now outfitted with a resident DJ, DJ Flames of RJR 94 FM and a great new voter’s prize.

After, host Yendi Phillipps introduced her at the beginning of the show, Kerrie-Ann “Kiki” Lewis, who returns as the vibrant host of the best lounge on TV , made the biggest announcement of the evening when she revealed that a $50,000 cash prize was up for grabs every week for a lucky voter.

“Every week, one lucky voter will have the chance to win a $50,000 CASH shopping spree and the opportunity to join me and the guest artiste for that week, in the Chill Room,” she told the viewing audience.

The winner of the Chill Room Vote prize will be announced on the results show that follows the live performance show for which the votes were received.

Executive Producer, Tahnida Nunes feels that the Chill Room prize is the perfect topping for the bigger-better thrust of the show. “It is important to balance great expectations with great rewards—the show’s fans have great expectations of us and we have great rewards for them. We wanted up the ante this season and add a fifth prize.”

The Chill Room was added to the show in 2005 and in 2007 Kerrie-Ann “Kiki” Lewis became the resident host. Some of the celebrities have graced the Digicel Rising Stars Chillroom include Busy Signal, Tanya Stephens, Vybz Kartel Tammy Chynn, Alaine, TOK, Cecile, Tessanne Chynn and Etana.
